Tata Communications clicked another noteworthy deal to sustain its growth momentum as Uk major British telecom (BT) granted a five year contract to the former towards outsourcing its entire international voice traffic.
“TCOM will become BT’s primary supplier of International Direct Dial and other voice termination services outside BT’s own footprint countries and BT will become TCOM’s main distribution channel for its traffic into the UK, expanding into other markets across Europe as the relationship matures," said Tata Communications.
The deal will require Tata Comm to supply BT’s international direct dial (IDD) and other voice termination services in places outside BT’s own footprint countries. BT, in turn, will be the distribution channel for Tata Communications’ IDD services in the UK and later in other markets of Europe.
“Once it ramps up, we expect it (the deal) to add 6 billion minutes of traffic to our network. Rate realization would be similar to our current realization on traffic," said Srinivas Addepalli, senior vice president of corporate strategy.
Michel Guyot, president of global voice solutions at Tata Communications, said, “The agreement will increase both the partner’s competitiveness and will enhance our respective service offerings.” |
