Cable & Wireless (C&W) said Wednesday that it has acquired a three-year contract with Ericsson to deploy fixed and mobile voice solution to the latter’s office sites in UK.

With this, these employees with be able to make calls from their existing mobile handsets while in the office and once they leave the office premise, the calls will be channelized onto a mobile network.
“FMC allows us to be completely mobile centric and allow staff to have just one number, voicemail and bill for all work calls made in and out of the office,” said John Cunliffe, CTO of Ericsson UK.
In addition, C&W will also enhance in-building coverage using a combination of a 2G microcell connected an antenna system to ensure there are no ‘dead spots’ in areas like basements and elevators.
The site is expected to be fully operational by mid August. |
