CDMA expansion: BSNL to spend Rs 349 cr; MTNL however will refrain

Minister of State for Communications and IT Gurudas Kamat said in the Lok Sabha that PSU BSNL will invest Rs 349 crore on its CDMA offerings with an aim to target 1.92 million new CDMA subscribers. MTNL however will not make any more investments on CDMA space for the time being apart from adding ten wireless local loop (WLL) towers in Mumbai in 2009-10 at an investment of Rs 122.91 crore.

He also added that BSNL will target 20 million new GSM subscribers.
