Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) will help Vietnamese operator, Viettel set up the country’s first 3G network by early next year as the two entered into a contract towards the same today.

As part of the deal, NSN will provide the hardware, software and services required to build and manage the network, including skills training for Viettel''s team with the product deliveries to start shipping from this month.

Viettel was recently awarded a 3G license by the government of Vietnam. As a market leader, it aims to be the first to bring pioneering services to its customers, and as a longstanding partner, we are committed to helping the company realise this goal. We will implement a solution which allows Viettel to provide high quality mobile broadband services, and also generate new revenue streams," added Krittika Mahattanakul, head, Asia North, Nokia Siemens Networks.
