Govt grants e-biz project to Infosys
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  22 Jul 2009

The government launched a Government-to-Business (G2B) services e-biz project with Infosys as the technology partner. The project is among the 27 Central, State and Integrated Mission Mode Projects (MMPs) under the National E-Governance Plan (NEGP).

The project includes designing and developing the e-biz platform, establishing the support IT infrastructure, implementing, maintaining and expanding the solution and services for the next 10 years. Infosys will also undertake training, workshops, promotion and awareness campaigns.

“We expect this project to be expanded to cover the whole country and provide over 200 Government-to-Business (G2B) services, as well as other value-added services by private vendors. I launch the project today with the belief that it has the potential to create tremendous value for investors and completely transform the existing regulatory scenario in India in the coming years,” said Mr Anand Sharma, Commerce and Industry Minister, Government of India.
