Oracle’s reach within the global telecom operator community witnessed an upswing in the company’s fiscal year dated from June 2008 to May 2009. The company claims that 140 service providers across the globe made use of Oracle Communications Software last fiscal.
The company attributes the huge uptake to the lower operational costs and risks benefits offered by its solutions which also accelerate time to market and drive service innovation.
Some of the noteworthy and major deals clicked by the company include Companhia de Telecommunicacoes do Brasil Central (CTBC Telecom), one of Brazil’s leading communications service providers which uses the Oracle Communications Software to support wireline as well as wireless services, SFR Réunion, the subsidiary of French mobile phone provider SFR operating on the island of Réunion, France, Tikona Digital Networks, a new Mumbai-based communications service provider.
Other communications service providers that selected or extended their use of Oracle Applications and infrastructure software include Cellular South (United States), Cinergy MetroNet, Inc. (United States), Cisco Systems (United States), Colombia Movil (Colombia), Expresso Telecom Group Limited (United Arab Emirates), Grupo Televisa (Mexico), Hughes Telematics (United States), KDDI (Japan), KPN (The Netherlands), Lexis Nexis (United States), MTS Allstream (Canada), Nippon Telephone & Telegraph (Japan), Soluciones Inegrales (Costa Rica), Sun Direct (India), Telefonica O2 (Czech Republic), Telekom Malaysia Berhad (Malaysia), Telenet (Belgium), Telenor Mobile (Norway), TeliaSonera Networks (Sweden), Telstra (Australia), TV Azteca (Mexico) and Vodafone (Global).
