Huawei Technologies today announced that it achieved the fastest ever downlink speeds on HSPA+ commercial network as per the publicly available records. Huawei achieved the milestone for Singapore’s StarHub for which the commercial network was deployed in March 2009.
The speed achieved was 18.2 Mbps. Huawei said that its solution made use of the higher order modulation 64QAM scheme which boosts downlink speeds by 50 %.
