VAS player, One97 Communications and Star Plus joined hands to offer subscribers access to news updates in multiple languages.
One97 will provide the technological platform for this initiative enabling Star News to reach its viewers as per the profile, demography, age, pricing and languages.
The tie-up claims that it is for the first time that a broadcaster will offer news updates to its viewers over the SMS channel on a monthly rental basis.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Managing Director, One97 Communication said ,“We are excited to partner with Star News. Powered by One97 and Star News, viewers can now receive information in the form of SMS or Voice Alerts on their mobile phones. Services like Video News Streaming and Citizen Journalism will become a reality through this tie-up.
Through this service Star News can now proactively reach its viewers with the latest news without having to wait to them to tune in. Increased interactivity with viewers will also enhance interest in programmes.
