Aircel in talks to offload stake in infrastructure unit

Maxis-owned Aircel is set to offload stake in its telecom towers infrastructure arm with leading domestic as well as international players in fray.

 

American Tower Company, Bharti Infratel, Reliance Infra, GTL and Tata-Quippo combine are reported to be in talks with Aircel to pick majority stake or to completely acquire the unit.

 

Aircel has 12,000 towers in its infrastructure arm.

 

Standard Chartered as well as Nomura and Rothschild are financial advisors to Aircel for the proposed deal.
