ITC rules in favour of Nokia over alleged 3G infringements
TT Bureau |  |  17 Aug 2009

A US-based International Trade Commission (ITC) relieved Nokia by ruling in favour of the firm over 3G patent infringements as alleged by InterDigital. The ruling by the ITC is an initial determination with the final ruling scheduled for December.

The particular dispute dates back to the year 2005 when InterDigital alleged patent violations by Nokia in a UK court. While the original figure was for 31 patents, the figure finally scaled down to 4. Within four months InterDigital demanded before the ITC that Nokia’s 3G handsets be blocked for importing in the USA.
