The joint partnership of US-based mobile roaming services provider Roamware Inc. and Sun Microsystems processes more than 80 percent of India’s international roaming traffic, with their roaming solutions widely deployed across most of the dominant mobile service operators of the country, said the companies.
The partnership involves deployment of Roamware solutions and applications on Sun’s platform, to help operators in rendering high levels of service and obtain operational efficiency.
“Coping with the speed of growth and the scale of the demands in India has been a challenge but, working in partnership, Roamware and Sun have delivered availability, reliability and coverage to satisfied clients across the sub-continent,” states Rajneesh Kapur, General Manager – SAARC, CIS and Africa, Roamware.
By the year end, India’s international roaming calls are predicted to be worth around to $500 million, with the Roamware-Sun partnership expected to manage calls to the value of around $ 400 million.
Furthering the comment, John Jiang, Executive Vice-President & Chief Technical Officer, Roamware, further reflecting on the partnership says, “There is a significant efficiency gain through working with the same partner over many years. This has also facilitated us to provide more robust and efficient solutions and to comprehensively test and benchmark our solutions before they reach the customers.” |
