State-run and struggling PSU ITI as well as Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) emerged as the final winners for BSNL’s Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) contract from BSNL after a two-stage bidding process.
Others in the fray after first round included names such as Ericsson, Sterlite, ZTE and Teracom. Sterlite was L1 i.e. its price was the least till the first round. The purchase orders have already been issued in July.
NSN share in the contract is worth Rs 185.62 crore while that of ITI is Rs 167.23 crore. The project is to be completed by November. |
