Vodafone completes deal with world’s four major music labels latest being with Warner
TT Bureau |  |  21 Sep 2009

Vodafone today signed a music deal with Warner Music Group thereby becoming the only mobile service provider in the world to offer its subscribers an option to download over the air music labels from the world’s top four music labels.

Vodafone has similar arrangements with EMI Group, Universal Music and Sony Music.

The deal with Warner enables subscribers to download the content without any anti-piracy software and is DRM free.

"The response to the DRM-free offering in all the markets where it has launched has been incredibly enthusiastic," said Pieter Knook, Vodafone Internet Services Director. "Our customers love ... the flexibility that DRM-free on mobile gives them."
