Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd.’s MTS India today set its foot in the Northern region of Delhi and NCR as part of its pan-India expansion roll-out. The company is banking on two-fold strategy of price as well as quality to attract subscribers from rival networks to its fold.
Following Tata DoCoMo in adopting the per second billing, MTS is offering ‘Power of One’ tariff plan with full talk time on all recharges including for Rs 10 & Rs 20 recharge for life, local calls at 1 paise per second, STD calls at 2 paise per second. Additionally subscribers can further avail of 50 % discounts on local and STD calls and also get 100SMSes every day by making use of the MSaver rental priced at Re.1 per day.
Mr Sanjay Bahl, Chief Operating officer of MTS India, Delhi and NCR, added “MTS provides subscribers with unparallel voice clarity, unmatched high speed data services and a bouquet of innovative VAS services. Besides the innovative tariff plan Power of One which, on an average, adds 25% to the value of your recharge compared to per minute plans, we have prepared a special promotion offer for the Delhi launch called Minute Millionaires. We offer 10, 000, 00 minutes of talk time free through the M Card. MTS products are available at 16000 retail outlets across Delhi NCR, and the number of outlets will increase substantially by year end”.
The company also announced the launch of its high-speed mobile data services, MBlaze to be available in Delhi from next week and also across all the areas of operation of MTS in India.
SSTL President and CEO, Vsevolod Rozanov while speaking to TelecomTiger said, “Highest quality of voice and data will be the chief pulling force for the subscribers.” “We have already clocked 2 million subscribers in the country. However, we would not like to set target,” he added.
In metros like Delhi where the mobile penetration is more than 100%, there is a severe spectrum crunch faced by incumbent operators and call drop due to this issue are frequent and annoying to the end-consumers. New entrants like MTS which have start-up spectrum of 4.4 MHz hope to garner subscribers from rival networks banking on the quality quotient. Supporting this belief, Sanjay Bahl said, “Our focus will be to keep the momentum for customer satisfaction. We have to continue to offer great voice experience. Since we are on CDMA network, it will be easier for us to ramp up the bandwidth and that is what we intend to do.”
“We are very hopeful of our Delhi launch since the capital is more CDMA-friendly than other places across the country. We have lot of expectations,” concluded Rozanov. |
