Nokia unveiled five new models for emerging markets where there is significant demand for entry-level handsets. The five new handsets are 1280, 1616, 1800, 2200 and 2690.
The 1280 model is considered to be Nokia’s cheapest handset till date priced at sub-$ 30. The 1280 offers talk time of 8.5 hours, which the company admits is 30 minutes less than the presently cheapest available model, 1202. It also has a flashlight. It can store 500 contacts as compared to 200 by 1202, has FM radio and has five separate phone books allowing users to share phones and save contacts accordingly. |
