With the Indian government reaffirming commitment towards conducting the 3G spectrum auctions next year, telecom vendors are all geared up to cash in on the high opportunity for demand of 3G equipment from successful bidders. ZTE Corp. is one such vendor which is pitching its 3G product line to Indian operators.
In a roadshow conducted last week to showcase its 3G solutions, the company claims to have successfully demonstrated 64QAM download speeds of 19-19.6 Mbps while on MIMO-based solution, the speed achieved was 26-23 Mbps.
One of the VAS solutions which evoked high interest from the operators is the High definition Movie supporting capability of the solution which promises a experience similar to that while viewing on a ADSL with 2 Mbps.
Additionally, ZTE is bullish on its SDR NodeB Co-Cabinet Solution which supports GSM, UMTS, WiMAX & LTE in the same cabinet resulting in lowering the TCO for the operator.
Many of the leading operators like Vodafone, Airtel, Reliance, Tata, Aircel, Stel & Datacom were part of the Live Demonstration which was held in Mumbai and Delhi.
While speaking with TelecomTiger, Mr. Huang Dabin, CEO, ZTE Telecom India Pvt.Ltd says, “India is warming up for 3G and along with that, ZTE India too. Our SDR solutions are one of the best solutions in 3G space. We can provide a combined UMTS, WiMax, GSM, EVDO & LTE solutions. Last year ZTE Corporation captured 36% market share of China’s 3G market making it the market leader in the country. I believe that this road show is a beginning of a new phase of ZTE in Indian 3G market and we look forward to providing the best 3G solutions and services.”
