Reliance Communications (RCom) today launched games based on Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) which allows GSM mobile subscribers to play games requiring real-time messaging services.
USSD allows real-time messaging which are generally quicker than SMS in terms of the response time.
To start with, RCom will launch Tic Tac Toe also commonly known as Noughts & Crosses.
Speaking on the launch of the service, Mr Krishna Durba, Head – VAS, Reliance Communications says, “The introduction of Games on USSD, we will now be able to provide games to our users on any GSM handset, from the high end to the low end ones. Our product is designed keeping in mind the evolving market dynamics and is in line with our philosophy to offer best-in-class mobile services to our subscribers.”
The service is available for Rs 5 per day or for monthly rental of Rs 30 for unlimited games. |
