The recently launched mobile WiMAX services by PSU, BSNL in Rajasthan which aims to provide broadband connectivity to rural areas has a Huawei touch to it.
Huawei is the technical partner for the project having bagged the contract from BSNL earlier in the year.
The solution deployed by Huawei is based on the WiMAX 802.16e standard which supports roaming and handover. Huawei says the solution offers whole E2E solution, seamless network architecture and convergence capability with other networks.
According to Max Yang, CEO – Huawei India, “This next generation of wireless communication will revolutionize the way services are rendered to consumers using internet/data and will develop the future of Indian telecommunications. It is a proud moment for Huawei to partner with BSNL in this prestigious WiMAX project.”
