Govt turns down BSNL request for Rs 1000 crore towards MNP

The government turned down a request from PSU, BSNL which asked for Rs 1000 crore to be Mobile Number Portability (MNP) ready.

 

According to the government, all service providers have to implement MNP at their own cost and no compensation will be provided by the government.

 

BSNL and MTNL have already declared that they will not be able to be MNP ready by December 31, 2009.
