Tata DoCoMo today launched a ‘BuddyNet’ scheme offering calls within the Closed User Group (CUG) for one paisa per 6 seconds on local calls and one paisa per 2 second on STD calls. Subscribers can opt for this scheme on a weekly rent of Rs 7.

The scheme is available on a rent-free basis till January 31, 2010. Subscribers will also be allowed to send 50 SMS to invite friends to join the BuddyNet community.

There is no restriction on the number of people who can join the BuddyNet community.

The scheme is open for prepaid segment and requires subscribers to buy recharge voucher priced at Rs 56. The voucher comes with 60 days free trial period. Thereafter subscribers will have to pay Rs.7 per week rental. There will also be Rs 40 talk time offered along with the voucher.

Tata DoCoMo claims competing offers restrict the number of members who can join a CUG to 3 or 5.
