Instant messaging and data synchronization provider, Synchronica claims that it bagged a $ 1.05 million deal with an Indonesian operator to supply Mobile Gateway. The deal will require the firm to supply over 300,000 devices over a 12 month period.
The order has been placed with a distributor for the unnamed Indonesian operator.
The devices will be bundled handsets incorporating Synchronica’s Mobile Gateway solution and will include handsets from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola and LG as well as Synchronica’s own MessagePhone.
Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Synchronica, says, “This contract demonstrates Synchronica’s growing footprint in Asia and the competitive strength of our product in emerging markets. Demand for Internet access is rising in key emerging markets such as Indonesia and with the lack of low cost PCs, the mobile phone is quickly becoming the primary device for Internet access. The scale of this contract shows the potential and growing attractiveness of our products to operators who want to retain customers and increase revenues by offering attractive mass-market data services on the entire device spectrum, from high-end devices to low-end basic phones. |
