Vodafone Essar adds 3.63 million new subscribers in March

Vodafone Essar repeated its February performance in terms of registering the highest number of new subscriber additions in a month, as the operator added phenomenal 3.628 million new subscribers in the month of March, 2010. The company had added 3 million subscribers in February.

 

Overall Indian operators added 13.94 million GSM subscribers in March taking the country’s GSM subscriber base to 421.86 million at the end of March from 407.9 million by the end of February. On a monthly comparison the growth in subscriber base is at 3.42%.

 

Bharti Airtel added 3 million subscribers in the month to take its subscriber base to 127.6 million.

 

BSNL too performed comparatively better with 2.4 million monthly additions and scaling past the 63.48 million subscriber base mark.

 

Aircel added 2 million subscribers while Idea added 1.68 million subscribers.

 

New entrant STel added 2.89 lakh and reached one million subscriber mark while Uninor’s growth in March was a bit slowed down with 0.7 million additions as compared to 1 million additions in February.
