New entrant in the Indian mobile services space, S Tel has reached one million subscriber base within 90 days of launch of services. The GSM-based operator offers services in three circles namely Bihar, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.
It has licences to offer services in Assam, Jammu& Kashmir and North East as well where it plans to launch services within this year.
On the occasion, Mr. Shamik Das, Chief Executive officer, S Tel says, “We place the consumer at the centre of our business and hence have witnessed wide acceptance of our products and services. We made a positive start in December 2009, becoming the fastest mobile operator to have clocked 1 lac consumer base across the 3 circles of Bihar & Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Orissa.”
The company plans to reach a BTS sites count of 2700 by April 2010 and more than double its sites by end of year. It has a retail network comprising of 25,000 outlets across its three circles of operations.
“We are presently serving about 65% of the urban population and a sizeable rural population in the three circles. We are promoting aggressively the network & service standards and creating new milestones in the telecom landscape,” adds Das.
Its popular offerings include Unlimited On-net Local Calls @ 99/81, Sale Pack 2010, Bachat Pack, Passport and STD pack. |
