Finland-based handset manufacturer, Nokia on Monday launched a range of new smartphones as a desperate attempt to check its dwindling dominance in the global handset market which is now driven by smartphones.
Nokia is aiming to take head-on challenge from Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Andriod-based handsets.
The new models include N8 launched in the Asia-Pacific region and runs on Symbian operating system. In India the phone will be available for a price of over Rs 21,000 from September.
The handset has special features to make access to social networking sites much faster.
Other models launched include the X6 model with an 8GB memory and targeted towards entertainment seekers as well as X5 model offering social networking applications and music features.
The X6 is expected to be priced at over Rs.12,750 while the X5 will be priced Rs.9,370.
Nokia also launched two new dual SIM models, the C2 and C1. Two entry-level phones were also launched which fall in the price range of Rs.1,998 to Rs.2,215. |
