ZTE Corp in alliance with Hong Kong-based CSL Ltd. demonstrated DC HSPA+ (42 Mbps)/LTE technology capabilities on an entire network at the LTE Asia 2010 Conference.
The two partners demonstrated live LTE service with pre-commercial USB modems running various broadband, multi-media applications, including hi-speed file download/upload, internet browsing, HD video download and streaming performance.
“CSL’s data traffic has increased by 40 times since the launch of Next G network in March 2009, it is clear that there is a strong need for LTE in Hong Kong to continue to provide a superior customer experience,” said Christian Daigneault, Chief Technology Officer, CSL Limited.
In July 2010, CSL and ZTE announced the deployment of the world’s first commercial 1800 MHz/2600 MHz dual-band LTE network and the upgrade of the 3G network to the Dual Cell technology with peak speeds of 42Mbps.
“Launching LTE and Dual Cell HSPA simultaneously is a technological challenge rarely seen before. We have been successful in providing CSL with a solution that will provide exceptional performance to CSL customers,” said Xu Ming, Vice-President of Wireless Products at ZTE. |
