SSTL revenues up 200%; net loss however widens

Sistema Shyam Teleservices (SSTL) announced its Q2 2010 results posting a net loss of $ 106.6 million as compared to $ 22.9 million posted a year ago during corresponding quarter. The operator which offers its CDMA-based mobile services under MTS brand, posted revenues of $ 23.1 million as compared to $ 7.2 million posted during Q2 2009.

"Mobile average revenue per user (Arpu) in the second quarter of 2010 was stable, even in the light of declining Arpu of most Indian operators. Mobile subscribers' minutes of usage (MOU) decreased by 6.4 per cent quarter-on-quarter to 307 from 328 in the first quarter of 2010," said the company.

The company’s subscriber base crossed the six million mark during the quarter. For its wireless services named MBlaze the company claimed to have 12,000 subscribers.
