Subscriber Growth

India’s mobile services success story is often credited to the consistent surged subscriber growth recorded year-on-year. And Bharti Airtel has in turn consistently maintained its leadership position on the wireless services front.

In terms of subscriber base, Airtel continues to lead others and claims to have a subscriber base of more than 60 million for all its services. The company’s mobile services subscribers form the main chunk.

An analysis of company’s subscriber growth story for the past five years reflects that Airtel has consistently delivered impressive subscription growth rates over the years.

The company’s wireless subscriber base has grown more than ten times to reach a figure of more than 68 million as compared to a figure of near about 6 million in 2004.

Another noteworthy landmark for the company is that it took only 14 months to double its subscriber base from 25 million in July 2006 to 50 million.
