Financial Performance

AT&T and Verizon fight it out on the financial performance as well with Verizon managing to score marginally ahead of AT&T on the profit front and that too with a positive growth for Q1 2009.

Margin wise performance of T-Mobile appears to be far better than others.

AT&T registered the highest revenues for Q1 but at the cost of margins. Industry observers attribute this to the heavy subsidies the company has to offer for iPhone subscribers. This has resulted in catch 22 situation to AT&T which has now to choose between attracting new subscribers or focus on margins. For the moment AT&T is continuing with notching up new subscribers.
