Chinese company Huawei Technologies expects to beat Swedish company Ericsson in the market for next generation mobile phone networks, reports Bloomberg.
"We have confidence we are better than others, we are better than number two," Ying Weimin, president of closely held Huawei's business devoted to the fourth-generation wireless technology known as long-term evolution, said in an interview in Hong Kong yesterday. "Globally, we believe we have the best market position."
Huawei presently is speculated to be number two in the worldwide telecom gear market marginally ahead of Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN).
Additionally the Chinese company now foresees $g network contracts to double by 2011. “There is growing demand everywhere around the world, especially Europe and the Scandinavian countries in particular," Ying, an engineer by training, told Reuters in an interview. "There is broad demand for the technology everywhere, and countries like Germany even want coverage in rural areas." |
