This standard specifies the protocol used to ensure that synchronous transmission is implemented for time-sensitive services, such as audio and video, and across Ethernet-bridged and virtual-bridged networks where the transmission delay is fixed or symmetrical. This includes the maintenance of synchronized time during normal operation and the addition, removal, or reconfiguration of network components and network failure. It also specifies the use of IEEE 1588 specifications in the context of IEEE 802.1Q and 802.1D. You Yiyong, President of Access Network Product Line, Huawei, said, “Huawei is deeply honored to win this prestigious IEEE standards award and proud to be recognized for our contributions to the industry chain. Huawei is committed to the healthy development of the industry chain and has been deeply involved in standards research and putting new technologies into commercial use.” As a major participant in and a contributor to the fields of IP and optical access networks, Huawei has been given several awards by the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector, the Full Service Access Networks, and the IEEE. |
