Taking congnisance of third chargesheet in 2G spectrum allocation case, the special CBI court here on Wednesday issued summons to five corporate honchos and three companies for alleged conspiracy and cheating.
The individuals are Essar Group's Anshuman Ruia, Ravikant Ruia and Vikash Saraf and promoters of Loop Ishwari Prasad Khaitan and Kiran Khaitan.. They will appear in court on Jan 27. The companies who have been issued summons are- Essar Teleholdings, Loop Telecom and Loop Mobile India.
"Cognisance is taken on the charge sheet and summon has been issued to the accused for Jan 27", said Central Bureau of Investigation Special Judge O P Saini.
The court also issued summons to three telecom companies - Essar Teleholdings, Loop Telecom and Loop Mobile India.
The CBI in its third chargesheet had said that Essar Group used Loop as a front company to acquire telecom licences in 2008. it also said that Essar, which already had a 33 percent stake in Vodafone, held substantial equity in Loop an thus violated telecom licence norms, the charge sheet said. The firm secured licences for 21 circles for around Rs 1,450 crore during the tenure of the former telecom minister A Raja. |
