Mahindra Comviva, has bagged won the GSMA Global Mobile Awards for its mobiquity mTicketing platform. Deployed in collaboration with the leading operators in Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Railways, the service allows customers to purchase train tickets using their mobile devices.
Bangladesh Railways is the largest provider of mass transit services in Bangladesh, serving 65 million passengers annually. Mahindra Comviva’s mobiquity mTicketing service enables Bangladesh Railways to digitize ticketing transactions, extending greater convenience to consumers whilst improving sales efficiency.
Deployed in partnership with leading operators in Bangladesh, the service allows customers to purchase tickets using a prepaid mobile wallet or over-the-counter at an authorized outlet. Currently tickets can be purchased at 3,500 issuance points, – a third located outside urban centers.
