Nokia on Monday officially announce the new Nokia X series in India at Rs. 8,599. Nokia X is being offered in Green, Yellow, White, Black, Orange, and Cyan colours.
Nokia X features a 4 inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. Nokia has powered this handset with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 mobile processor and 512 MB RAM. This core hardware runs the new Nokia X software platform which is based on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.
Though the Nokia X runs a part of Android, it will not be able to run all Android apps and Google mobile services out of the box. For Nokia X, the smartphone will run Nokia Store with both paid and free apps. The user interface of the Nokia X Dual SIM is heavily inspired by Nokia Lumia platform. Apart from that, the Nokia MixRadio service will be bundled on the handset through an app.
By default, the Nokia X Dual SIM has 4 GB on-board storage and there is a memory slot that can accomodate up to 32 GB micro SD card. At the rear, Nokia has placed a 3.15 megapixel camera and can record SD quality video. There is no front facing camera.
Nokia comes with a removable 1500 mAh battery inside the Nokia X Dual SIM and promises about 10 hours of talk time. The Nokia X has a single capacitive button for navigation, unlike the three capacitive buttons on a Windows Phone smartphone.
Nokia says the other two phones in the family, the Nokia X+ and the Nokia XL will be available in India in the next 60 days.
Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL form a new family of Nokia's affordable smartphones. The Nokia X is the entry-level model in the family. The Nokia X+ offers more memory and storage. Finally, the Nokia XL packs a 5-inch screen, 5 megapixel rear-facing and 2 megapixel front-facing camera.
All three devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor and are dual-SIM phones. A range of third-party apps comes pre-installed, including BBM, Plants vs Zombies 2, Viber, Vine and Twitter. |
