Microsoft on Tuesday unveiled the next generation Surface Pro 3 tablet at an event in New York. Surface Pro 3 is lighter than the Macbook Air. Users can easily transform it from a tablet to laptop with detachable keyboards. Moreover, the device gets a new two-position kickstand that helps users place it at an angle. The tablet starts at $799, and can be pre-ordered from Wednesday.
Surface Pro 3 comes with 12-inch, 2160x1440 pixel with full HD resolution display, it runs on Windows 8.1 OS. The Surface Pro 3 comes powered by fourth generation Intel Core processor and also comes in a choice of Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors.
The tablet is now capable of instantly converting pen-written text to digital content. Users will find a click a button on the back of a pen to immediately open a new note on the Surface Pro 3. Once you write, the note is saved to OneNote and syncs it to all of your other devices, with just another click and also send the handwritten notes to the cloud as well.
It comes with Dolby Audio sound with a full-size USB 3.0 port, microSD card reader and mini display Port for quick file transfers and easy connections to a range of peripherals. It also provides nine hours of Web-browsing battery life as well.
Some optional accessories, including a new Docking Station and a Surface Ethernet Adapter also announced for Surface Pro 3.
By August-end, Surface Pro 3 will be available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom. There is no word on its availability for India market.
The company did not detail the camera specifications, new Touch and Type Covers with larger track pads were also unveiled. |
