Chinese handset maker Xiaomi, has finally exposed its first smartphone for the Indian market, the Mi3 for Rs. 14,999. Mi3 is listed on the company's site with the tag line, ‘pre registration starts on July 15’. Xiaomi is expected to give tough competition to the Indian manufacturers and is also known as ‘Apple of China’.
Mi3 sports a 5 inch full-HD LCD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution at a pixel density of 441ppi. It runs on Android 4.3 operating system with Xiaomi own MIUI version 5. It is powered with 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2 GB RAM. Mi3 comes with a 16GB inbuilt storage with Available storage capacity: 13.22 GB.
It has a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 2 megapixel front camera. It is backed by a 3050 mAh battery ensuring long back-up and talk time. Mi3 measures 144 x 73.6 x 8.1 mm in height, width and depth and weighs 145 grams. It will be available in Metallic Grey colour.
It will also be interesting to see, what mode of channel Xiaomi will select to sell its products in India. Will it go the Motorola way by selecting Flipkart or through its own e-commerce portal. |
