Another Chinese manufacturer, Meizu Technology (MEIZU), on Wednesday officially announced its entry into India with the launch of its flagship smartphone MX5 at Rs. 19,999 for the 16GB inbuilt storage variant. The Meizu MX5 will be available on Snapdeal from 2pm IST on Wednesday. 32GB and 64GB variants will be launched in India at a later date, the company said. MEIZU also announced to unveil more than 40 customer service centers across 20 cities and become the first smartphone brand to offer unique Delivery Repair Services – a doorstep servicing facility in India.

The MX5 launch is the first step towards that goal,” added Li Nan.
Meizu MX5 features a 5.5 inch full HD Super Amoled display in 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It offers a pixel density of 441 ppi. Meizu also claimed that its display had 10,000:1 contrast ratio. The device is powered with 2.2GHz 64-bit Helio X10 octa core processor from MediaTek with 3GB RAM. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based Flyme 4.5 Operating System and supports dual-SIM with both the Nano-SIM card slots supporting 4G.
Meizu MX5 sports a 20.7 megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor, laser autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. Rear camera record videos at 4K resolution and also sports a 5 megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. For connectivity, it includes - 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, and Micro-USB.
The device is backed by a 3150 mAh battery and supports quick charging with the company's mCharge technology that can charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. It has gravity sensor, IR proximity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and digital compass. The device measures 149.9x74.7x7.6 mm and weighs 149 gm.

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., China’s leading e-commerce company, recently invested $590 million for a minority stake in MEIZU. Additionally, MEIZU is the first smartphone brand in India to offer a unique Delivery Repair Service option to its customers, wherein a MEIZU smartphone user will enjoy doorstep repair and replacement facility. |
