Following the trial of other mobile phone operators, UK-based Vodafone will open a new mobile application store, which will let developers to create and sell software that can be employed in an array of handsets.
The revenue made out of the applications, will be shared with developers, with Vodafone keeping 30 percent of the revenue generated through its network and the remaining 70 percent will be entitled to developers.
A kit will be given to the software developers to facilitate them develop applications, before its launch in autumn this year.
Others who are already in the race include, Apple Inc., Nokia Corp., Research In Motion Ltd. and Palm Inc., as well as operating system developers Google Inc. and Microsoft Corp. |
