Verizon launches cloud computing services in USA and Europe

Verizon''s enterprise business unit announced the launch of cloud computing service offerings with an aim to provide enterprises access to virtual as well as physical server as per their requirement.

 

The new service launched by Verizon will enable companies to access custom software designed by Verizon through a web-based portal. Components including servers and other elements will be made available inside Verizon's data centre or at customer premises.

 

The new service comes for a price of $525 one-time setup cost and $250 per month rental. Billing for the service will be based on per-day usage, ranging from $8 to $12 per day for access to a virtual server or $17 to $22 a day for a physical server.

 

Verizon claims that its score over competitor offerings as it allows customers access to both virtual and physical servers as well as it ensures enhanced security. Furthermore the flexibility of daily billing is also unique claimed the company.

 

The services are currently on offer in USA and 15 countries in Europe and are expected to be launched in seven Asia-Pac regions by August.
