VAS Player, OnMobile witnessed a 49.2 % surge in revenues for the Quarter ending June 30, which was mainly affected by the inclusion of revenues of Telisma. The revenues for Q1 were at Rs 437.5 crore as compared to Rs 292 crore in Q1 2008.
While the revenues were boosted by Telisma’s contribution, the same resulted in narrowing the EBITDA and PAT lower by 3.8% and 2.1 % respectively.
The firm attributed the rise in expenditure to increased cost for content alliances as well as higher payouts to media and initiatives in Mobile Marketing segment.
Net revenues for core business in the domestic market were at Rs 80.75 crore while those from the international market were at Rs. 23.4 crore.
OnMobile said that subscriber base increased to 630 million as compared to 600 million at end of March, 2009 with unique visitors at 64 million.
The company said that traditionally the first quarter is seen lowest in terms of revenue and profitability. It also said that the TRAI directive on interconnect charges affected its topline. |
