Motorola scaled its focus on the Enterprise segment in India with launch of its TETRA technology based Dimetra LiTE in the country which promises to offer features such as integrated voice and data services in addition to providing full duplex IP telephony calls.
The Dimetra LiTE solution is seen as an extension of the company’s Dimetra IP family solution portfolio. Motorola expects the solution to find relevance in sectors such as utility, transportation, small airports, small seaports, resorts and large hotels.
Moreover, Motorola claims that the new solution provides a migration path for operators with conventional analog systems who want to upgrade to advanced digital systems.
“With the launch of Dimetra LiTE we can now deliver the benefits of digital trunking solutions to our enterprise customers due to TETRA technology’s affordability’, said Subodh Vardhan, Country head for Motorola’s Government and Public Safety business, Enterprise Mobility Solutions. “As the world’s largest TETRA supplier, Motorola has a proven track record of designing scalable TETRA IP solutions, ranging from small single-site deployments to nation-wide solutions. In India, Motorola’s TETRA solution in a short span of time has emerged as the trusted technology for mission-critical applications in the transportation infrastructure segment, including the new strategic international airports in Delhi, Bangaluru and Hyderabad”, he added.
Explaining the advantage of using a TETRA solution, Motorola says that the TETRA Base stations are linked using standard Ethernet interface thereby saving on the cost of leased lines. Apart from this the remote access function which allows rectifications from a central place help in reducing maintenance costs. |
