Alcatel-Lucent bags all IP-network transformation order from Japan’s NTT DoCoMo
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  15 Oct 2009

Alcatel-Lucent claimed a new order from NTT DoCoMo of Japan for its 7450 Ethernet Service Switch (ESS) which will enable all IP-network transformation for the operator.

Alcatel-Lucent claims that its solution will provide a smooth evolution path for NTT DOCOMO to upgrade its network to 10Gig and - as network growth demands – to 40Gig and 100Gig.

“This selection by one of the most advanced mobile operators in the world is a strong endorsement of Alcatel-Lucent's IP portfolio,” said Sean Dolan, president of Alcatel-Lucent’s activities in Asia-Pacific. “Transforming its network to all-IP is enabling NTT DOCOMO to meet its customers’ converged service requirements on data, voice and video.”
