Nokia makes top level reshuffle with an aim to catch up with smartphone competitors

Finland-based Nokia Corp has appointed Rick Simonson to Head Nokia’s mobile phone business. Simson is presently serving as the company’s new CFO.

"After six successful years as chief financial officer, it is great to have Rick move to such an important operational role. Rick Simonson's deep knowledge of the business and its financials will be valuable for the significant part Mobile Phones plays in Nokia's business,” said Nokia CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo.

Global Head of Sales, Timo Ihamuotila will replace Simson from November 01, 2009.

In fact Nokia has come up with a new division catering to smartphone to be headed by Jo Harlow.
