Pune-based Sterlite Technologies Limited today announced that it has won BSNL’s award for ‘Best Telecom Equipment Manufacturer (fiber optic cables)’ for the year 2008-09.  The award was bestowed after judging parameters such as product quality, manufacturing infrastructure and field performance reliability.

Sterlite says it has a 45 % market share in the optical fiber and cable market in India and is currently executing a contract for BSNL, to supply NGN equipment for a GPON-FTTH network.
