RCom shortlists vendors for Rs 700 crore MNP contract

Reliance Communications (RCom) is set to award a contract for setting up a MNP ready system for the operator. There are as many as 8 vendors in race to acquire the contract estimated to be in the range of Rs 700-Rs800 crore.

The firms in race include names such as Tekelec, HP, Intec, Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent and Radio Telecom.

The MNP implementation would be carried out in phases with the initial launch covering metros and ‘A’ category circles.

 HP would provide the gateway infrastructure for MNP implementation, Tekelec the integration set-up which will enable RCom to find out the correct serving operator of the called party and re-route the call correctly, Intec Telecom Systems would offer BSS solutions while vendors such as Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Huawei and ZTE will set up core network solution.

Radio Telecom System will be RCom’s IT partner for MNP implementation and maintenance.
