Nokia revealed its targets for the upcoming new year saying that it expects flat sales in handset market in 2010 while the overall handset shipments to increase by 10% on a yearly basis.
Additionally Nokia expects the average selling price to reduce further next year while aiming for a slightly increased market share. The company expects opex to be EUR 5.7 billion in 2010 for its devices & services division. R&D expenses will be brought down by about 10% next year while the operating margin will be in the range of 12%-14%.
Nokia’s new focus is to enhance the end-user experience, re-engineer the Symbian user interface, deliver a major product milestone before mid-year 2010, and another major product milestone before the end of 2010. Users can expect more QWERTY keypad phones from the company.
The mobile computing terminal of the company will be launched during the second half of 2010.
Nokia now aims the services division to rake in revenues of EUR 2 billion by 2011 and have active users totaling 300 million by 2011.
On NSN, Nokia expects a flat revenue growth but expects the JV to grow faster than the market in 2010. The operating margin for NSN is expected to be around 2% in the new year. |
