BSNL Workers to go on indefinite strike from April 20

BSNL’s employees including of Executive cadre as well as Non-Executive cadre totaling more than 3 lakh have announced that they will go on indefinite strike from April 20, 2010.

The Unions demand include Settlement of  ITS Absorption issue, No Disinvestment / No Privatisation of BSNL, No Retrenchment / No VRS, No Unbundling of Last Mile Copper & Other Infrastructure, No Outsourcing, Immediate Procurement of Mobile Lines and Ensure IDA Pension Revision to BSNL Retirees.

“The non-settlement of absorption of ITS officers in BSNL and the continued deputation for more than 9 years have resulted in utter confusion causing irreparable damage to the development and expansion of BSNL,” said a joint statement issued by the Unions.

The Unions have also demanded greater role of the employees in the decision-making process of the company.

The Unions will hold a massive dharna on march 26, 2010 at Corporate Office Delhi Circle and SSA Head Quarters.
