Alcatel-Lucent has come up with its new Mobile Wallet Service (MWS) solution catering to the mobile payment industry with the solution promising to increase the importance of mobile service providers in the overall value chain of delivery of mobile payment services.
Importantly the vendor is offering the solution as part of SaaS (software as a service) which means operators do not have to incur significant capex while deploying this solution. The solution offers the flexibility of customization as per requirement.
Some of the popular consumer application possible over the platform include person to person payment, remote ticketing, proximity payment and m-commerce. The platform also allows third party application developers to integrate their offerings through an Application Enablement API.
Alcatel-Lucent says that the solution is available in ‘ready-to-offer’ mode for operators.
“Consumer tastes and technology can change in the blink of an eye,” says Anthony Belpaire, General Manager, touchatag, Alcatel-Lucent Ventures. “Our approach allows operators to bring timely and relevant mobile wallet services to consumers, to scale with consumer demand and to dynamically add new applications.” |
