HCL Infosystems unveiled new BFR-free version of ME Series 40 Notebook on the occasion of Earth Hour 2010 celebrated on Friday. HCL says that the new models are designed and manufactured with BFR components used in concentrations of less than 0.1%, thus making the product 100% recyclable and environment friendly.
On the launch, George Paul, Executive Vice President, HCL Infosystems Ltd said, ”We have always lead in bringing technology innovations into our country since inception. The BFR-free models meet the RoHS 2.0 standards as laid down by the European environmental-safety standards and is also compliant to Energy Star 5.0 rating.
HCL claims that the notebook’s green quotient is enhanced due to the Advanced Thermal Engineering technology incorporated in the device which almost doubles the battery back-up of the notebook.
Apart from the green quotient, the notebook works on Intel Core 2 Duo processor, T6600, has a RAM of 256MB to 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM, 320GB SATA Hard Disk, Screen Size 15.4" Wide XGA TFT LCD Panel, Glare type with Native Resolution:1280x 800 , OS Win 7 Professional, 1.3 MP webcam, integrated Bluetooth, Integrated 4 in 1 Card Reader & 4 USB ports.
The model is available for a price of Rs 41,500 excluding applicable taxes. |
