BSNL Employees Unions to go on indefinite hunger strike from April 12
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  07 Apr 2010

Non-executive employees of BSNL will go on hunger strike from April 12, 2010 in front of Bharat Sanchar Bhawan to press for their demand on orders for wage revision and payment of arrears which they claim are due from January 01, 2007.

The Unions plan to extend their strike to State and District levels if their demand is not met.

The Unions claim that while the ITS Officers of the firm have been granted new pay scales from January 01, 2006, the non-executives employees who number about 250,000 are yet to granted similar pay revision.

The Unions further claim that they had earlier reached an agreement with the company’s board over the issue on January 15, 2010, but the management is delaying the execution of orders.
