RCom Q4 net drops by 16%

Dual-tech operator, Reliance Communications reported a decline in net profit by 16% at Rs.1,219.5 crore in its Q4 results. The net includes Rs 813.4 crore of other income, which typically includes treasury income and revaluation of foreign debt. In the year-ago period the company had other income of Rs 168 crore.

The company’s operating margin declined 740 basis points on account of lowering of call charges.

Revenues too declined by 17% to Rs.5,093 crore compared with Rs 6,124 crore in the same period a year ago.

Average monthly revenue per user fell to Rs 139 during the March quarter down from Rs 149 in the previous quarter. Minutes of usage per subscriber fell to 318 in a month from 330 during the period.

Average minutes of use was 468, up from 446.

RCom’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation and exceptional items fell 33% to Rs 1,602 crore in the quarter ended-March.
